This small section of the woods got it's name from the rather unusual creatures that live here. Many Gifted have begun to wonder whether the calling doesn't only affect humans but animals too.Many strange animals reside in this area, never leaving the magic shield that surrounds the sanctuary. Gifted have seen rocks come to life, bears morph into people, and many more oddities.

This small pool outside the Sanctuary simply began as a collection of rain water. However, each New Moon, Gifted noticed the pool continue to reflect the night sky well after morning had come. During the night of the New Moon many gifted feel drawn to gather here. They often spend the night in community or accepting the visions the pool gives them.

The Sanctuary territory doesn't stretch on forever of course. The Boundary is the furthers edge of Cougar canyon, following the river as it turns away and disappears into the rock. Beyond this point, the magic shielding the Gifted ceases to exist.

Behind the sanctuary, residents have worked to build a heated pool system. Water flows through from the nearby river into a small collection of pools before. One of the sanctuary's fire users heats the water so members can use the pool system as a sort of hot spring. After everyone has been finished, the water is released through channels that direct it back towards the river.
