Eagle Bay Is the most popular beach. The water on this side of the lake is generally clearer, and with a pier, volleyball court, and several food stands, one could easily spend all day here. The Beach is named of course for the Eagles that often circle over the waters, leaving the occasional plume or feather scattered along the sand. |

Bordering the deeper end of the lake is a cluster of cliffs known as the Drop Off. Many youth make sport of jumping off the cliff faces into the cold water below. Needless to say, cliff jumping is both very dangerous, and illegal due to many young lives that have been lost. |

A series of walking paths and bike trails border the lakeside, providing the citizens of Mapleridge with a good 20K walk should they go the whole way. At the very edge of the main trail lies Rattlesnake Point, a picnic table area overlooking the lake below and the city from afar. |

The caves are still relatively new to Mapleridge. Though they've always been there, they weren't accessible until the water level dropped during a drought seven years ago. Since then, the water levels have usually been low enough to allow civilians to hike through an elaborate network of caves. It is a unspoken law that civilians should never enter this place alone. The rising water level is not the only danger civilians could face here. |
