Very few Gifted are lucky enough to have their own living space, and many share a room with two or even five others. With limit space and new arrivals every few weeks, many of the beds are simply little futons that can be folded away during the day to conserve space.

For the amount of people it holds, the Sanctuary's kitchen and dining space are rather small. Most Gifted take to the living room to eat their meals, rather than remain in such a cramped space. Sanctuary residents work team shifts every cooking meals for the rest of the Gifted, washing dishes, and doing other kitchen maintenance. Unless it's labeled, everything in the kitchen is free game.

The Sanctuary's cellar contains several moderately sized rooms. Most are used for storage, however a few have been converted into dingy sleeping quarters. It isn't entirely unusual for Gifted to arrive at the sanctuary in a state of temporary or irrevocable hysteria. These are the Gifted that live in the cellar, often too afraid to even venture upstairs for meals.

For Many Gifted, the general outdoors are not a safe place. However, behind the stone walls of the sanctuary there is enough vacant space for residents to at least stretch their legs.
