Unlike many other areas of the city, the Westside maintains a near constant mellow atmosphere. The air is constantly fragrant with the smell of flowering gardens, and this side of town generally gets the best weather.

Western Citadel is the more humble counterpart of the Northern Citadel Community Housing. This community isn't particularly wealthy, however many of the neatly manicured lawns and extensive landscaping might lead you to think they are. Many Japanese immigrating families had settled here in the past, giving Western Citadel the cultural influence it has today
