Thalia strolled into Ratio in a happy mood, she had just gone to The Crown and bought some new snazzy clothes. "Hey, can I have a coffee?" She asked. She had just eaten and felt rejuvenated after that. A coffee would make sure she was extra awake and aware, just in case. After ordering Thalia went to go sit down in a comfy chair to wait. She didn't really have anything to do that day aside from eat, shop, and sleep. That seemed to be most days honestly. Tali had dropped out of university and didn't have a job, so she had nothing to do to keep herself occupied.

"Sure thing!" An extremely peppy voice called from behind the counter. Maeve trotted about, putting a coffee together. "Anything in it? Sugar? Cream? Cinnamon?" She asked, grinning wide at the girl who'd ordered it. "Ooh! How about whipped cream?" She beamed. "It'll melt fast, but it'll taste amazing," Maeve said with a nod.
Before long she'd already bounced around and given several other people their drinks as well before skidding to a stop in front of her original customer. "Sorry about the wait!" It really wasn't much of a wait, Maeve was good at her job, speedy as anybody when it came to making hot drinks. She put her hands on the counter, tossing her blonde ponytail back over her shoulder and out of the way.

Thalia was in a good mood and she found this girl's happy vibes rather amusing. "Um, just cream please," She replied, having gotten up again. Tali wasn't one for fancy things in her coffee, they tended to water down the caffeine, and it was the caffeine that she needed. "How is your day going?" She asked the cheery girl. It seemed about time that she actually made a friend. Thalia didn't really have any good friends anymore, she had fallen out of contact with most of them.

"My day is going pretty well, thank you for asking," Maeve said with a bright, friendly smile on her face, shuffling around behind the counter. "I had the most amazing blueberry muffin this morning for breakfast. It had these little, solid, sugary crystal-like things on the very top and it was just awesome. Super sweet, though, it sorta shocked my tongue," She said, scooting over and handing the woman her coffee.
"I've been here for..." She glanced at the clock. "Three hours. One more hour and I'm off," Maeve beamed. "You would not believe how busy it's been in here today! I wasn't expecting to have so many people want coffee but, I suppose, you get sleepy people some days who need a little pick-me-up," She shrugged, clearly enjoying talking to this new woman. "I suppose it's calmed down now, after the rush and all. I'm Maeve, by the way," She added.

Thalia couldn't help but laugh at Maeve's enthusiasm. "Thanks," She thanked her for the coffee and handed over some cash, there was no point compelling people when she had cash on hand. Plus, she kind of liked this girl. "Thalia Woods. It's nice to meet you," Tali offered her hand for a hand shake.
Unlike most of the half asleep people, Thalia didn't just drink coffee to help wake herself up, no, she needed the coffee to help her gift. Listening to this woman chat about her day was rather amusing, but it kind of made her sad as well. She actually had some point to her life, while Thalia did not. After her and her brother went separate ways, she hadn't really done much. Perhaps she should reapply to university, or get a job of some sort. She could do whatever she wanted honestly.

"It's lovely to meet you!" Maeve exclaimed. She then began babbling about the other things that had occurred that day. Silly customers, mixed up orders, other such mishaps as well as good things that had happened. After babbling for a little while Maeve paused and took a deep inhale, apparently having said all she had in one breath. She had some serious lung capacity.
"Anyways, what have you been up to?" She asked, plopping down in the seat beside Tali. There was nobody else placing any orders at the moment so she'd be fine to take a little break. "Also, do you go by Thalia or Tali or something else?" Maeve inquired.

"Tali or Thalia works," Thalia replied with a grin. This girl was very funny and she actually enjoyed listening to her speak about her day. "Well, my day hasn't been that exciting. I honestly haven't done anything. I honestly dont really do anything any day," She admitted. "I was thinking about finding a job or reapplying to university..." Why was she saying this? Thalia didn't really know, but Maeve seemed like a really nice person and she found it really easy to open up to her. Maybe she would have an idea about what Tali could do with her life. You would think it would be an easy decision because she could compel herself into getting anything. She could be an actress, or a politician, or anything, but Tali just didn't know what to do.

"Oh that's exciting! I'm taking online courses, college courses. I graduated early," Maeve said with a smile. "What would you want to learn about?" Maeve inquired, leaning forwards in her seat slightly. "I study Earth Science and Geoscience stuff, like rocks and metals and global warming and all that junk. It sounds boring but if you get into it it's actually really interesting stuff," She explained.
"You could look into getting a job too! I do both! Online courses and I work here," As if Thalia didn't already know that. She crossed her legs, smiling at Thalia. "You could work at a coffee place like here or at a clothing store or something. Maybe you could become a nurse and work at the hospital, I hear that's the place to be given all the stuff happening recently."

Thalia waited for her to finish her spiel before she replied. This girl was rather excited about everything it seemed. How nice it would be to have a normal life and be a normal person... actually no, she liked her gift. "Your life sounds rather busy!" Thalia didn't really know what she wanted to do anymore. "Well I originally planned on studying fashion and getting an arts degree, but i'm not sure anymore. I think being a doctor would be nice, but that would take far too long and it would be a lot of work," Thalia paused to think about it. "Honestly, even if i could do anything, I wouldn't know what i wanted to do," That was kind of ironic because she could do anything. Tali could compel her way into any job.

"Busy, absolutely, but awesome, also yes," Maeve said with a giggle and a grin. "Ooh! Fashion! I like that! It's so creative! You must be super creative! I could never do fashion stuff," She said, shaking her head no rapidly. That wasn't for her. She didn't have the ability to sit in one place and focus on a design or anything like that, she was way too busy moving around and being a little crazy. "And being a doctor takes so much work! So much schooling..."
"Well... let's see, what do you like? Like, what are you interested in?" Maeve inquired, resting her chin in her hand, determined to assist Tali in her career choice, suddenly making it her business.

Thalia kind of missed half of what Maeve had said. She spoke so much and very quickly that it was sometimes easy to tune out... "What am i interested in?" She repeated the question just to make sure that she had heard properly. "Well, I do like designing things. However i am not too much of a fan of business. Although i am told that i have very good people skills. I think i'd be rather good at debating," Well wasn't that the truth. Thalia would be a fantastic marketer, but that didn't appeal to her. "Maybe i should just start my own line," However that would be a lot of work... she didn't want to do that much work.

"Oooh, that would be cool... Isn't it hard to start your own line though? I mean, with no training and whatnot?" Maeve inquired, tipping her head to the side curiously. Nobody had entered the coffee shop since she sat down, which was nice, a lull in her shift. Maeve rarely took breaks as it was, so it was a rare treat for her to get to sit here and chat with someone for a change. Of course, she often talked to people... More like whenever she had the chance to... Just not during work.

"Well it could be, but i can be rather persuasive," Thalia could easily get an internship to understand how the business worked, and then from there she could go off and start a new line. Or maybe she would just take over someone else's... "Perhaps i should apply for some internships and start from there. Then i'll get the swing of things and see where life takes me," She mused aloud.

"That's a great idea! Learn some tricks of the trade, form some connections, awesome!" Maeve grinned, clapping her hands together. "You should come by again when you're a huge success and let me know how it went!" She giggled. She then hopped to her feet. "I should get back to work, it was nice talking to you!" Maeve said, waving and turning, walking briskly back behind the counter so she could commence cleaning the place up a bit.

Thalia was kind of excited. It would be fun to get back into the swing of things. "Thanks Maeve, I'll be sure to let you know how it goes" Tali called and placed her mug on the counter before heading out to do some research on this. Perhaps she would be the next 'it' person. It honestly wouldn't be hard for her to get famous, but was that really what she wanted? It would put her in danger because people could find out whether she was gifted or not.
